Corporate Biometric Spoofing

Companies might want to think twice before implementing A.I. systems to monitor and authenticate staff.

New techniques in machine learning have led to synthetic fingerprints and other automatically-generating bioidentifiers capable of fooling monitoring systems. Researchers at Michigan State University and New York University built an algorithm that can generate fake biometric credentials, signaling the potential for innovation-related vulnerabilities on our horizon.

One such instance might be a malicious system generating millions of fingerprints in a brute force attack to remotely open a door or unlock a laptop.
